Sports Day 2017

Dear Uplands Families,

Sports Day is coming soon! It will be on Friday June 16th, regardless of the weather.  (If it is too wet, we will do the activities indoors).  Please send your child to school dressed for the weather and for being active (runners please, no flip flops).  We hope the sun is shining, so please remember to put on sunscreen and send a hat and water bottle.  Students are encouraged to dress in their House Team colour: (Same as the Healthy Heart Jump Rope Day). The theme for the day is Celebrating Canada.


8:45 = Family Reading and Continental breakfast (Thank you PAC!)

9:15 = Wheels Parade (around the perimeter of the school)
*Participants are encouraged to decorate their non-motorized wheels. Helmets required. Please park all wheels in the gym with your house team banner before going to class for attendance and family reading.

10:00 = Cheer Practice (In house teams)

10:20 = Cheer-Off

10:30 = Recess

10:45 = 6 Canadian Themed Stations (10 minutes each)
*Students will be in a small mixed-grade group with intermediate student leaders.

12:05 = Lunch *Class Pizza Parties (organized by class parents, more information coming soon)             + PAC Concession

1:00 = 4 Canadian Themed Stations (10 minutes each)
*Students will be in a small mixed-grade group with intermediate student leaders.

1:45 = Tug-of-War

Emergency Preparedness

The Langley School District, along with DPAC, has been working hard over the last year to ensure that our schools have a strong start on Emergency Preparedness for our students. That in mind, new training has been taking place for our staff and students. I would encourage you all as parents and caregivers to review the attachment to ensure you understand the “language” your children will be taught and using surrounding emergencies.
